ESOH Program Evaluation

I attribute the success of any ESOH program to aggressively implementing these four general elements which I discuss below.  Any ESOH program must have these four elements in order to achieve success and maintain it in the future.  I have been doing this for 25 years and know exactly how to improve any ESOH program.  I want to help your team!

OSHA outlines these four critical elements as:
1. Management leadership and employee involvement
2. Worksite analysis
3. Hazard prevention and control
4. Safety and health training

The first element is to establish and maintain an aggressive education and training program.  This includes constant and consistent reinforcement, to all employees, of the importance of safety and specific and detailed methods to back up the training, such as articles, videos, annual safety day, and enforcement of standards when they are not followed.

The second element is to implement an aggressive safety inspection and worksite analysis program.  This effort will provide valuable information about the hazards being seen within the workplace.  Sometimes these hazards are directly relatable to mishaps and sometimes they are not.  It is very common, especially in our organization, that mishaps occur in common areas, such as parking lots and side-walks that are not part of an industrial shop.  These areas are covered by our general inspection schedule.

Third, hazard prevention and control is critical in translating the hazards found in the workplace into corrective actions.  A good tracking system is critical to ensure that long term follow-up is conducted.

Finally, management leadership and employee involvement is critical and probably the most important component in mishap reduction.  Safety policy must start from the top and ensure all employees are directly involved and take ownership in preventing mishaps and instituting a culture of safety within the organization.
Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH):

- Consulting services in the various areas of ESOH provides the client with the information needed to make the right decision.  I have experience in all of OSHA'a key compliance areas, such as, confined space, hazardous chemical communication, respiratory protection, lock-out tag-out, electrical safety, fall protection, and related compliance areas.  Is your Safety Program missing something?  Mishaps up and you don't know why?

-  Conducting compliance audits, inspections identifies hazards and provides the data needed to recommend control options to mitigate those hazards.  We can help your organization get into regulatory compliance, reduce mishaps, control hazards, and sparkle with OSHA coompliance resulting in an outstanding safety program by implementing the four critical elements of any great safety program.

Health and Safety Training:

- OSHA Requires Employers Designate a Competent Person.  We can provide specific training to fit your needs to assist with this requirement.   OSHA authorized trainer.  Once you complete the course, you will be issued an OSHA training card.  Handouts shall be provided.   Training courses may be tailored to meet specific needs and requirements.  Training is critical and often required for specific hazards and work practices.  Make sure all your training is adequate and documented.

Examples of training include:

- Injury and Illness Recordkeeping and General Safety Programs
- Emergency Management and Evacuation
- Fire Protection and Life Safety (NFPA 101)
- General Housekeeping and Workering and Walking Surfaces
- Job Hazard Assessments and Personal Protective Equipment
- Fall Protection
- Ladder Safety
- Machine Guarding
- Lockout-Tagout
- Electrical Safety
- Hazard Communication and Hazardsous Materials
- Confined Space
- Silica Exposure and Control
- Materials Handling and Storage
